I was offered a lunch by Groupon SA, Cape Town at 50% discount during August 2013. Groupon Voucher code : 0010018737 refers. I paid for this electronically. I made several attempts to make a booking with the restaurant, The Guinea Fowl Restaurant but in vain. The manager said he received so many bookings, are fully booked for the period and could not accommodate me.
I conveyed this to Groupon and applied for a refund of my moneys (R140). Groupon approved this but refuse to refund me but keep this money as a voucher on my account.
I don't have any accounts with anybody. I don't receive feedback on my mails from Groupon and telephonically they are not helpful.
I am going to approach the Consumer Council for assistance as I feel this is unlawful business practice.
