I saw a haircut deal that I knew my mom would be interested in. I clicked the recommend button and entered her email address to recommend the deal to her, and should she sign up to Groupon and buy the deal, I would get R25 towards my next deal! I was very excited.
But she never got the email with the link...
Then I sent it again...
And she still didn't get anything...
And again...
Nothing.
So then she signed up anyway, and bought the deal.
I was very annoyed about this, but I thought if I contacted Groupon that they could see on their data or something that my mom had signed up and bought the deal...
This was on 28 January 2013.
I emailed them via their website that same day.
On 29 January, I received an email saying "Groupon would love to hear what I think of their customer service..." so I replied telling them I had not yet had a response.
Then on 30 January I received an email from a Cheryl Nhlumayo who had apparently been assigned to my issue. She sent me a "humorous" email about "gremlins" and apologised for any inconvenience caused, ignoring my query about the R25 owed to me(??)
I replied and have had no response from Cheryl since.
