Groupon SA
Willing to investigate

I bought a "Groupon" for a Spa package at a Guest Farm in March this year. When I tried to make a booking though, the Guest farm informed me that they sold too many "groupons" and cannot accommodate me. (That in itself sounds fishy to me. How can that be legal?)

I decided to contact Groupon SA for a refund, since it was quite an expensive Groupon to begin with.

I was informed that there was a clause in the fine print, stating that I forfeit the voucher if I do not make a booking within 7 days of purchase (even though the voucher only expires in Sept).

Now, I am using the iPhone Groupon Application to manage my vouchers, since it is very convenient to warn about expiring vouchers etc. However, the application does not inspect the "fine print" at all, and therefore I missed the warning that states that I needed to make a booking within 7 days.

After going back-and-forth I finally ended up talking to Kelly Paulus. I presented my case and after evaluating the facts, she authorised a refund against my credit card.

An employee like this is an asset to every company that aims to provide superior customer service.

BTW: I will inspect my future Groupon vouchers with care...
