Very quiet price increase slipped in

Checked a flight to Australia online, but because the itinery was a bit complicated, and because flight center matched the price, decided it best to speak to a person. Through the email stream, it seems one flight was "confirmed", but the others not.

Two days later we checked the pricing on the other travel site, and it still being the same went through to pay. At FC, it was explained that one person could not be booked yet, as a name was needed, and the person was not yet born. It could be arranged later. As a result, the pricing changed. We paid and left.

On closer inspection, we found that the pricing of the paid tickets had now increased by approx R1800. No mention was made of this. Irritatingly, the website we found still had the same original pricing! Calling the agent it was explained that the tickets were released as not confirmed, and when rebooked, they were more.

So, how about telling us? As much as we like the friendly faces at FC, we would have preferred to use the first website with the unchanged pricing and save R1800!

A warning - don't get blinded by the friendly faces. Double and triple check your pricing, as they won't risk loosing a sale by telling you.
