I recently had a phone with a pre-paid sim card, (072 014 5840). I enquired from vodacom shop at columbine square, 9 March 2013, if the number 072 014 5840 was still available to do a sim swop. The staff member said yes it was still available and that there was still -R60 on the sim card. Vodacom refused to refund the -R60 and said if I want to use the -R60 I would need to do a sim swop.
I went and bought another pre-paid, (079 570 9933), at checkers columbine and inserted it into my new cellphone to do a sim swop by dialing 100. It did not work!!! I phoned 111, call centre, and spoke to a 'Pamela' who said the number was no longer available to do a sim swop!!
Now I want to know what happens to the money on the card!!! Does vodacom simply keep it? This is surely thieving!
