Introduction:
In May13:
> Renewed my 8ta contract
> Wished to port my current Vodacom number to the renewed contract
> Dealt with 8ta in XXX
Issue:
> The I received was not registered on the system (!)
> Number did not port (!!)
> Was being double-billed: for my previous 8ta contract, and the renewed contract (!!!)
> The issues above remain unresolved for 2 months; no one in 8ta XXX nor Telkom 8ta knew how to fix it.
> I was missing important calls as a result of not porting my old number.
Solution:
Around second half of Jul13:
> Went to 8ta Umhlanga to see if they could assist
> Was helped by Vee Pillay
> Vee told me to leave the issue with her and she'll work around the clock to sort it out, as she felt it was totally unacceptable
> She took the case up with the manager, Vernon, and within 2 weeks:
--> my number was successfully ported
--> device fully registered
--> account corrected, and I was refunded
Later on:
> My girlfriend opened her first 8ta contract at Umhlanga
> I took out a data contract at Umhlanga
> My girlfriend intends to take out a Tablet contract with Umhlanga 8ta, with Vee in particular
