I purchased my Sony Xperia Z a few months ago and became a complete fan of Sony - telling everybody I knew that they had made a mistake buying the better known smartphone brands.
But a few days ago my screen cracked while still in my pocket with no obvious reason. Some fine hairline cracks across the screen, with the result that the phone no longer responds to touch: can't unlock, can't phone, etc. I took it in to be repaired but I was told I had to pay R4.5k. This is really pricey there is no guarantee that this problem won't happen again since I have found out that there is a problem with the screen on this model.
I am at a loss what to do. and would appreciate a formal response from Sony on how to proceed.
