Woolworths' Poor quality and returns policy

I bought a top from WW N1 City beginning of October 2013 (not on sale) The quality of the top is very poor and the stitching came loose after two washes and a hole fell in the garment. I decided to return it to WW Canal Walk today. I was informed that no refund/credit could be granted as the code on the label reflects 2012 and does not appear on the WW's system anymore. The matter of the fact is that the top was in the store at normal price. Unfortunately I purchased the top with some grocery items and disposed of the cash slip.
I was turned away and told that I must take it back to N1 City or contact Head Office. Apart from the poor quality products WW is offering these days, their returns policy is also becoming a joke.

When I purchase an item I do not look in the label to check how old the item is. It is WW that is selling old stock!

I am sitting with a top which has no value to me!
