I am not at all impressed with Defy and will never buy another fridge from them again. In the normal course of events I would expect a domestic fridge to last 8-10 years without giving problems. I purchased a Defy D190 fridge in 2006 which after 3 1/2 years lost all its gas due to an internal leak. The fridge went in to Defy for repair and lasted about 3 weeks before it lost its gas again. At this point I threw it away. I replaced the fridge with a Defy D220 fridge in 2009, hoping the quality had improved. Guess what, I had the same problem after less than 4 years. Although Defy sent out a technician over the weekend to determine the problem, I received a call this morning that I must pay for the repairs. I plan to dump the fridge with signs written in felt tip marker warning people not to purchase Defy products as they don't stand by their quality. As a result I have purchased another brand with a 3 year guarantee, which hopefully will be of better quality. I did warn Defy that I would post my complaint on Hellopeter but they did not seem concerned.
