Incorrect Packaging by Toshiba impacts Customers

I bought a Toshiba laptop at Hi-Fi which was advertised as having 1 Terrabyte capacity on the 2nd of August. I only managed to get an IT boffin to set my laptop up on the 14th of September. He discovered that the laptop only had 500 gig capacity. I immediately took the laptop back and the relevant store attendant confirmed that it was indeed an incorrect laptop. Instead of giving me the correct one I was blamed for not bringing the laptop back within 14 days of purchase and that I had to wait an additional 14 days before they can either refund me of give me the correct product. Were it not for the IT guy I would have merrily carried on and used the laptop. I trusted Hi-Fi that they had sold me the correct product. Now I need to pay the IT guy for his time and sit without a laptop for a futher 14 days. According to the inconsiderate and unfriendly Emmanuel, who initially refused to give me his name, their actions are in terms of company policy. Because I had returned the laptop after their 14 day period had elapsed I just have to wait. The product will be sent to Toshiba to be assessed for possible corruption of the sotfware before they can replace it. I thought I bought hardware!
