I had two rectangular marine ply boxes made by Innovative Joinery for my veranda in which to store cushions - just boxes with two doors each and caster wheels. I was quoted R18, 000 (yes, eighteen thousand rand) for the two boxes and paid them.
Their first effort resulted in the boxes being rickety and skew, and the plywood started to peel off the sides. They were sent back and, when delivered again, the doors couldn't be fitted. The doors were taken away, apparently fixed and brought back. The varnish was still wet, with streaks coming down one of the doors. All the doors are still skew.
It has now been 7 months (!) since this saga started and I am sick of dealing with them. I have been studiously ignored and the two boxes are standing here for all to see the shoddy workmanship of this company. Every time I call Tania Kapp or Roy Lawrence (owner) I am fobbed off with another excuse. I will now deal with them through the Consumer Council.
By the way, desks they made for me beforehand also took forever, because they got the measurements wrong.
Do NOT deal with Innovative Joinery - you will regret it.
