Unable to obtain correct account no. for an EFT

I bank with Nedbank and my vehicle is financed by ABSA. I want to pay additional amounts into my car loan via an EFT from Nedbank. However, the account no. provided to me by ABSA only contains 8 digits and isn't being accepted by Nedbank. I do not want to create an ABSA current account for the purpose of paying off my car loan early. Thus far, my attempts to obtain a "correct" account number that will enable an EFT from Nedbank have been unsuccessful. How difficult can providing me with account no. that will enable an inter-bank transfer be?

In addition, why do I need to have an ABSA banking account to be permitted on-line access to my car-loan account? Other banks do not place this restriction on the loan clients that do not bank with them.
