My name is Vuyo Fanta and have had a Funeral Policy with Old Mutual for more than 4years. On the 16th of June i went to the nearest Old Mutual in Guguletu Mall to check and follow up on on my premiums on the Policy since my Step Dad was in Hospital, when i got there i received assitance from a lady by the name of Vicky who told me i was behind with my premiums and i must make payment within the next 2 months coz i was on the 6 months holiday (given to clients who are not working or strugling to make payments) and was left with 2 months before my policy lapses, so i decided i'll make my payemnt on the month end of June. On the 19th of July my Dad passed on and when i went to Old Mutual on the 22nd to make a claim i was told by the same lady "Vicky' that my Policy had lapsed, i could not understand and when i reminded Vicky of what she had told me she denied and swore that is not what she had told me and theres nothing she could do. So right now im a bemused, furious and frustrated client because i recieved incorrect information from Old Mutual and now i do not know where to go or what to do to give my Step Dad a decent funeral as i am not working.
