Last week on July 26, I logged a report on Hellopeter on how Standard Bank has twice debited R2000 and another R1000 from my salary without even bothering to inform ME the person who works hard to EARN that salary. I was left confused and unable to pay my monthly bills because of this institutions cruel operations. I have been to my branch in Southdale where I spent an hour liaising with the Collections department and I was told that my account had been sold to UNKNOWN attorneys and that I would be contacted by those UNKOWN attorneys soon to negotiate payment for a supposed personal loan taken out by me when I was an unemployed 19-year-old student. What is most disappointing other than the fact that these heartless people have taken so much of my salary without notice or opportunity to negotiate, is that the Standard Bank official who contacted me August 1, had incomplete information logged on my query. This institution really does not care how badly they treat their clients survivev as long as they make a profit. Its cold and disgusting how Standard Bank chooses do business and make money. VERY UNETHICAL!!!
