Calvin Sewela - Bad Consultant at Planet Fitness
September 2023 - Visited the Planet Fitness Gym Witbank Branch. I signed up and I was introduced to the SANLAM reality program. I accepted the offer. I provided banking details and volunteered the date at which debit orders should be processed. I wanted to add my 2 boys and re -activate their old tags. I was told to bring their birth certificates. One particular Sunday morning in the Month of October 2023 - I decided to drive passed the gym to submit the required documentation. I was turned away citing that Calvin Sewela (The recruiter) was on on duty and that no one else can assist me. It felt funny but I never paid too much attention to it. I then drive back home. I wats apped Calvin and alluded that I was there. The week of 13th November 2023, I was getting calls from Debt Collectors citing how a non payer I was and my name is then handed over to them. On Friday, 17 November 2023, I then received a long wats app from Calvin citing that if I don't pay by 22 November, Planet Fitness will then take money from his account. This is annoying. This is not right and Planet Fitness must reprimand such cheap work ethic. 1. Who's fault is it that the system did not get instruction to debit the account? Was it my fault? The client? 2. Who turned the client away when the client needed help with processing the remaining and requested documentation? Was it the client's fault? Me? Kindly enlighten me. Was the client supposed to be sent a wats app on that magnitude - That is low and unprofessional. 3. Why were they so quick to submit my names to debt collectors instead of calling me as Calvin Sewela could write long paragraphs (esp. when a threat of a money was made unto him). Why did he not use the energy to resolve the client being turned away on that particular Sunday. Why was the receptionist who turned me away addressed? Why was the client's needs and wants disregarded. That is disrespect. I then made an appointment for Monday 20 November 2023. I met Clever Nyama. I explained the whole ordeal to him. You know to suspect there were no funds in my account and not deal with negligence was so low to listen coming from Clever. I realized how Customers are taking for granted here. The Planet Fitness Witbank reviews on hellopeter say it all. I reasoned with Clever. In return I was about to proceed with my membership. I was willing to pay. I was told how my membership is a normal one. I was told in Sept that I was on REALITY SANLAM by this Calvin, and that I needed to bring in the birth certificates. Now the system was showing something else. I flipped. Then Calvin uttered how he explained to me on the phone for 40 minutes and how he tried to respect me - The nerve of the guy. I am a customer. I have every right to ask for clarity as and when I feel like it. The guy's attitude sucked and I went back to Clever. As I was at the door. Calvin passed through the door and slammed a door on me. I told him nonsense. I was screaming. There were people in the Staff Office. This Calvin was taking his frustrations on me and I told him he must never think I will be bul**** to admit ad acknowledge sub standard service or unclarified matters. I have a right to question. I will be vocal and talk my mind. Clever was there. I hate it when some people think that one is not entitled to have a say on the matter. The slamming of the door on me showed how a boy Calvin was. He started to tell me how he has kids and that I must not shout at him. I wasn't shaken by his cheap talk. I stood firm and responded to him. How on earth do you employ someone who in a conflict brings his FATHERHOOD into the equation. He failed to uphold a successful recruitment and now we ought to be told about how a father he was. That was so low and dumb. I am a mom as well. Should I have told him that he is not the only parent in South Africa? NO... man. Their service is bad bad bad to a point that triggered me to write this review. Let's expose nonsense. This is one of it. Negligence at it best and employees want to justify. We are here to expose such nonsense. I aim to use other platforms to expose Planet Fitness - Witbank
