On 28th May I used the "contact me" option on M & F's website and asked for a quotation on all insurance (car, household contents, building). I was sent an Excel spreadsheet to complete, which I did.

On the 3rd June, having heard nothing, I emailed again.

In response I received an email to say that they had tried to contact me "numerous times" (funny, if you can't get someone on the phone, try email!) and that my building construction was a problem and could I explain the construction.

In the spreadsheet I had originally sent, I had said that it was a sandbag (Ecobeam) construction. If they had Googled Ecobeam, they would have seen exactly what it was.

However, I contacted the patent holder of the system to get the exact description of what this building method entails. For the record, it holds two Agrement Certificates, and is both NHBRC and SABS Approved.

Whilst I was waiting for his reply, I got another email to say that they would not be able to assist me with a quotation. I had not even given them the description yet.

Despite asking what the reason was for this "rejection", I have not had the courtesy of a reply.

Do they not need new business? Why the rejection?
