I caught a Rikki's taxi home the other night from an event they were a partner in at Shimmy's. As an event partner, I thought they might be offering free services, and I'll admit I was silly to not check this when I got into the cab to go home to Tamboerskloof. What led me to believe even more that e ride might be free was that there was no meter displayed. It was only upon disembarking that I was told they have a flat fee from the Waterfront to Tamboerskloof. This is not displayed in the taxi, and I was not told it was a flat fee when I entered. I felt I had been mislead, and I wonder whether it's illegal to not make service fees known to the consumer before they use the service? I was so annoyed, I paid and left without getting the driver's name. I hope Rikki's changes this system, as it seems very misleading to me. But then again, that's why I never usually use Rikki's...
