MY DAUGHTER WAS TO FLY BACK FROM CAPE TOWN TO JHB AND ARRIVED FOR CHECK IN - WITHIN - THE ALLOWED TIME PRIOR TO CLOSURE/FLIGHT TAKE OFF. SHE WAS DENIED BOARDING AND ON ENQUIRY AS TO WHY?? WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO RE-BOOK.!
PASSENGER =YOUNG ADULT WITH NO TRAVEL EXPERIENCE - ALONE AT AIRPORT AT 20H50!!
THE RESULT WAS RE-BOOK TICKET WITH ONLY AVAILABLE FLIGHT 48HRS LATER - WHICH RESULTED IN FURTHER EXPENSE IN ACCOMODATION ETC. YOUNG ADULT WAS HIGHLY DISTRESSED AND NO ONE ASSISTED! AT THE TICKET SALES OFFICE, THE CLERK PROMPTLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF SITUATION. THE CLERK INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL TICKET RETURN VALUE WOULD BE RETAINED IN A VOUCHER FORMAT TO B UTILISED WITHIN 6 MONTHS - BECAUSE SHE WAS " PRESENT WITHIN THE BOARDING TIME"!! & PROMPTLY TRIED TO SELL THE MOST EXPENSIVE RETURN TICKET 2 JHB, STATING THIS 2 B "THE ONLY AVAILABLE FLIGHT". ON PARENT (ME) TELEPHONIC INSISTANCE THE CLERK BEGRUDGINGLY & WITH ATTITUDE (FOR ALL TO SEE) INSTANTLY FOUND A FLIGHT FOR! /2 PRICE! REGARDLESS THE ADD COST IS UNACCEPTABLE, PASS WAS IN FULL RIGHT/TIME TO BOARD THE FLIGHT MN132! I WANT A FULL EXPLANATION ON EVENTS AND REFUND FOR RETURN TICKER ADD EXPENSE.
