As a regular user of the service provided by Zebra Cabs, I am disgusted with the level of service provided to me last night! This company claims to charge a rate of R10 per kilometre, which is 100% acceptable. This means that I had budgeted for a specific amount of money in order to get myself home in the late hours of the night! Using the metre in the cab ended up costing almost double the price I was expecting, and the issue with this was that by almost half way home, the cab was costing what I had in cash. A 5km distance travelled came up to close on R100, with another 3 or so km to go, I had ran out. I was then left on the side of the road with absolutely no remorce by the driver, and was forced to then walk home in a particularly dangerous area. My complaint is that because this company was not up front and honest about their rates, I ran out of money budgeting for their advertised rate which has never been an issue before! I called the customer service in hope to clear things up today, but i have not been contacted at all! I would NOT recommend this service to anyone i care for, as I worry they shall experience the same level of an un-caring attitude towards them as i did.
