I booked a flight with SAA for my nephew to visit us for the holidays. As I do not have a credit card, I received a Pick n Pay payment reference number. Yesterday I attended at the PnP store in Canal Walk (Cape Town) to make payment of my confirmed ticket. The system said 'refer to issuer'. I contacted the SAA Call Centre from PnP and was advised by an agent to enter the reference number again, which I did.
A second phone call was made to the call centre after the fifth attempt, advising a certain lady (an agent) that the reference number is not working. She reset the number and I tried it again.
At this point, I was fed up with SAA and asked her, if PnP won't accept the reference number provided by SAA, how am I supposed to pay the ticket? This lady simply advised me to either pay via credit card or attend at the airport and/or the SAA offices, where an additional amount of R200.00 will be payable. Why should I go out of my way and travel such far distances and go through so many efforts for SAA's faults???
I am disgusted with the service I received from this specific SAA agent and will never suggest flying with SAA to any family member or friend.
