I am very perturbed about the mechanical state of the Eldo Coaches busses. My daughter travels once a month from Jhb to Durban and back. Two weeks ago, on the weekend of the 13th Sep. my daughter boared the bus at Park station. Firstly it was delayed for an hour (not the first time as well) and secondly, the bus breaks down in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere. Passengers had to stand outside, alongside the freeway for over an hour before the tyre was replaced.. Then when she was returning to jhb on the nite of the 15th sept, the bus was delayed yet again for an hour at the durban station. Now the next incident is, this friday, 27 Sept, my young daughter and husband boarded at Dbn station to Jhb, and Lo and behold, the bus breaks down again in Pmb. They were delayed there for over 3 hrs in the sweltering heat. They reached Jhb after midnite, after 10 hours. This is pathetic, frustrating and unacceptable. Eldos coaches busses are not roadworthy and in shape to be on the roads at all. They should be grounded until their fleet in properly maintained and 100% roadworthy as not only is it putrid service but the safety of the passengers is definately compromised. WAKE UP!
