My family and I hired a site at Caravan Cove last Christmas. On an outing to the pool my wife stepped on a loose, solid steel, pool weir cover, the size of a manhole, resulting in extensive injury and hospitalisation for three days. When we approached the Park to claim our 'out of hospital' medical expenses from their public liability insurance (which would have had no financial impact to them), we were totally ignored.
After repeated emails we were told there would be an investigation, and then referred to their attorneys. Neither the owner nor the attorneys have had the courtesy to respond to our subsequent correspondence.
The owner has claimed ignorance in respect of liability and is clearly not concerned about Customer Care and Service. We are not claiming compensation, merely a recovery of direct expenses incurred - a mere R3500, 00 only! And perhaps an acknowledgement of their responsibility, some concern and an apology. Shocking!
