Hi there, on Fri 23rd Aug i made a booking at a Hong Kong apartment for R1, 500 on this south african travel website. my card was immediately swiped but then a few minutes later, the reference was cancelled as their rates were not updated! i was then advised of either alternative pricing or to rebook at a higher cost (R600 more!!). the original card payment was reversed and my card then swiped at the higher cost. i then informed wimdu that the price you see is the price you pay and that it is not my fault that their rates were not updated - i consider this unethical and unscrupulous. i asked that i be refunded the R600 cost - to my utter dismay, the company reversed the entire charge and i now sit without a booking! i have contacted their customer support and was advised that my complaint would be removed from their website, but that i should email them on a private support email address. nothing has been done about this matter and i strongly advise fellow travellers to be aware of this company, wimdu and their unscrupulous unethical practices. regards, Ashley
