I had a very unpleasant accident on the flight no EK 761 from Dubai to Johannesburg on
6.July 2013
The seat 36 G is a really problematic.
During the flight early after the taking off I wanted to go to the
toilet. It was dark and the cupboard over my head was extremely low. I had
not seen that. Getting up from my seat, I hit it with full power and speed.
I had a shock. I was bruised with a big bump on my forehead. I also
experienced a mild concussion, I had a headache for couple of hours and was
vomiting 3x before I got home. I was feeling dizzy. I had a headache also
next day.
I had to leave my guesthouse closed for 2 days, not feeling well to accept
any clients.
The structure is very dangerous.
The cupboards should be removed from above the seats.
I was expecting an immediate change of the seat. It was not offered any
alternative by the staff. Maybe the plane was full.
I believe you can not pay me for the lost business I had to reject and
not pay me for my pain and really bad experience, but I believe you can
accept my request for an upgrade to business class for my next flight.
