Cell C
Contravention of Consumer Protection Act

Last Sunday we went and signed a contract with Cell C for a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 on SmartData 2Gb for R449 per month as advertised. When the attendant brought out the tablet I noticed it was a 16GB and not a 32GB as advertised by Cell C. They said they would get one for me by the end of the week as they did not have one in stock in store. It has now been a week and a half and I received a call this morning from the attendant saying that Cell C head office are putting it down to a misprint and that they only have 16GB in stock nationwide!

This is in direct contravention of the consumer protection act due to their blatantly false advertising! The deal is advertised over multiple media channels and Cell C cannot now decide that they wont offer the product as advertised because they don't have stock and it doesn't suit them!!

This is completely unacceptable as the contract has ALREADY BEEN SIGNED for a 32GB device and this is our third active contract with Cell C to date!!

I look forward to your response to this nationwide case of false advertising and quite frankly Cell C!
