Account option changed without permission

We had a prepaid telephone option with Telkom which we paid an annual rental price. 4 Months ago we received a telephone bill of R200 for line rental. My husband then went into Telkom's customer care store where he was directed to a phone which he was to call Telkom call centre (why have a customer care store if they put you on a phone to sort the problem out anyways!) He queried the bill and was told that his account had been changed, he asked by who's permission and they said he gave them permission. He then requested a copy of the contract he "signed" requesting the change or a voice recording where he is giving permission as he does not recall speaking to Telkom. They are yet to contact him. The bill is now R600, if we receive another one now it will be R800, we were told to settle the account before they change us back to prepaid!! Why did they change us in the first place!!! We refuse to settle the account as this type of service in unacceptable. I have received messages on my telkom line threatening to be blacklisted and that our services will be discontinued. Why are we the victims when the error was made by Telkom??
