My MTN contract expires in mid May 2013. The current contract on an Iphone4 promo started on 8 February 2011. In my understanding a promo last 24 months, but the remnants of previous upgrades account for the run-over to May 2013. No problem. I ask the consultant what current cancellation would be. The Iphone promo has been paid, the fact that I am still paying the promo fee each month is simply because cancelling the contact would reset free minutes and carryover calls. To terminate early will cost in excess of R2500. Of which R1700 is for the phone which I have been paying for 24 months!!! ASTOUNDING. Great. I will wait two months and then I will have only one final data contract remaining with MTN. GOOD BYE MTN, you can take your network and shove it.
