I recently took out a contract for an iphone online from MTN direct. When the phone arrived I registered the sim card and was told to wait 2-24hours for registeration, which I did.By the next day the phone still said the sim card was 'unregistered'. So I went into MTN Cresta and asked for assistance, the guy at the counter told me that he wont help me and that he is tired of fixing problems for people that buy phones from MTN Direct, in future I must not buy from MTN Direct. He then proceeded to tell me that MTN franchise stores and MTN Direct are two separate entities so this is not going to become his problem. I then went to a MTN Direct store and I was charged for a replacement sim card for the faulty sim card which they gave me. I am very confused as to what the workings of MTN are? Surely if you work for MTN regardless of whether it is an MTN Direct or MTN Franchise you are a representative of the MTN brand?
To add even more salt to the wound I sent an email to the MTN complaints email address and my complaint was never dealt with. Way to go for customer service MTN. I am and Im praying for my contract to end so that I never have to deal with these imbeciles again.
