In April 2013 I bought a modem and took out a data subscription from Mtn. I was given the reassurance that I could cancel within 10 days.
I had a lot of problems and delays getting the connection up and going, largely because Mtn did not connect me. And then when I was finally connected, I decided that it would not suit me because it was too slow.
So I cancelled, within the 10 day period.
I cancelled on 29/4/2013 with Lukhanyo, the salesman who sold me the package.
13/8/2013 I spoke to Kamo ref.# 103015399
27/8/2013 I spoke to Lesego ref.451521103 and was told it was done. I also faxed the requested documents to 0862312220
08/10/2013 I again went in to the branch (the 3rd time!) and spoke to Phinda, the manager, who made various calls while I was there, and assured me - again - that it was done.
And yet - every month I get a bill - the last one dated 13/12/2013 for R1332.80.
I am concerned that this will impact my credit rating, and may even lead to me being handed over.
Apart from paying for a service which I have cancelled and am unable to use, I am at my wits end. It has taken hours of my time as well, and the matter does not seem any closer to being resolved.
