On 17 /11/ 2013, I opened a new MTN Data Account (3 GB 2 GB free) R299-00/month @ MTN Eastgate. At end November '13 I did NOT receive an account from MTN but received account on 18/12/2013, dated 13/12/2013 for amount of R3113-77!!! On Friday 27/12/2013 I queried this account @ MTN Eastgate as I had subscribed for a MTN Data Account for R299-00 per month & definitely not for R3113-77. After amount of R3113-77 had been paid, I went back to the MTN Eastgate shop & requested my new MTN Data Account to be closed. I was served by MTN Eastgate salesperson, Bafana Tlale, who made it very difficult for my request to be processed. After spending approx 1 hour in store, I telephoned MTN directly, contacted MTN Retentions Department & confirmed settlement amount of R639-09 (reference no. 107748065), & paid amount of R639-09 on 03 January 2014 at MTN Eastgate. I was then informed by MTN Retentions Dept to contact them after 24 hours which is impossible as I have called 3 times and held on more than 1/2 hour each time to confirm closure of my account. MTN please contact me URGENTLY TO CONFIRM CLOSURE OF THIS ACCOUNT!!
