I entered into a contract with Cell C in 2009 and it ended in 2011. I followed their procedures for cancellation of contract by settling outstanding amount and even writing a cancellation letter as I had no desire to either continue or enter into a new contract with them given the challenges I encountered. 2years later they are back telling me that I still owe them R500 and as I was enquiring how, the amount doubled in less than 3 months to about R1000. I requested a statement indicating that I owe them a month ago from JM Attorneys (debt collection company) and to-date I'm still waiting and I'm being harassed to pay. How do I pay any money without any substantive proof that I owe them money when they are failing to provide me with my statement. The only mistake I did was entering into a contract with this company and now that I lost my receipt for settling my account I'm compelled into paying money I know I do not owe.
