Common defect on xperia z screen

There is a common defect with the Sony xperia z screen cracking for no reason. My phone is only a few months old and the screen cracked. I was told it is my damage and I must carry the cost. This is absolutely ridiculous! I have never done anything to the phone that would cause this. I want the screen replaced at no cost because clearly it is sub standard quality. I want an urgent response because I need my phone repaired or replaced.
