On the 19th Sept 2013, I called Altec Autopage requesting to change my debit order date from the 20th to the 1 of Nov 2013, as I've changed job, but the agent advised me to allow the Friday evenings (20 Sept 2013) debit order to 1st run and then call in on the 1st Oct 2013 to make the changed. On the 1st Oct 2013, I called and was assisted by Thoko who gave me a ref/no: A1310018708 and she assured me that the changes were in place, however, I was shocked to receive an sms the next day in forming me that my account is in arrears and Thoko did not mention that I'd be in arrears if I change my debit order date. Upon receiving that sms, I immediately called Altech Autopage and was greeted by a very rude woman who said the following: "if I were you I'd pay that R95, otherwise, you can close your account! ". She immediately transfered me to their retention department and I was quoted R700 to terminitae the contract. I've been with Altec since 2006 for them to treat me so bad and worse, I've not been in arrears before and fail to understand why I must pay the September account twice. Today, the account was suspended and that too, will leave a negative report at ITC. Please help!
