No Data service

I have 8 ta prepaid data on a SIM in a 3G stick in my netbook. At Dragon's Peak (the most populated area in the Drakensberg) and at Sun City Vacation Club (a huge resort) I got the message "prepaid data depleted; top up to connect", but I had in fact masses of data credit in the account. Representative at Telkom Mobile, Brooklyn Mall, explained that these masts do not handle prepaid data (but they can convey the wrong message requesting for more money) and that is just a fait deaccompi. I find this unacceptable nonsense, sitting with a data credit that I cannot use when I need it in an isolated place for essential work like banking. Why does this service have to work this way, and what can I do with the money I put into this account? Tell me why I should not change my service provider?
