3 weeks ago I went to the Telkom store in Eastgate to try apply for a wireless telephone for landline. During my application it was picked up that I owed Telkom money from 2008 which I had explained during that time that it was for I had never stayed in Grahamstown & was required to fax affidavit which I did, but for some strange reason 6 years later that matter still shows on their system.
Was told I need to do another affidavit so that it can be cleared & my application can be processed which I went to do, then instructed to come after a week to check on progress.
A week later when I went back to the store the lady had misplaced copy of my ID & the affidavit because those people don't do proper admin, was shocked to see them going through piles of other customers sensitive information (bank statements, ID copies, proof of res & payslips) whilst they were looking for my detail, needless to say they couldn't be found after which I had to ONCE again to get another affidavit only to be told upon submission that I will only know once the investigation is complete, so 3 weeks wasted for nonsense.
Today walked into a Neotel store & came back home with a new phone, no stress :-)
