This is simply a note to say that I am quite fed up with the poor quality of service (so called "Best Effort") offered on the 4mbps Telkom Internet. I am tired of getting sales pitches for uncapped internet, speaking to support only for them to tell me that I am syncing at full rates only to log onto the internet to get download rates slower than a 128kbps ISDN.
I am tired of waiting minutes in order for web pages to load, downloads to crash, and really try to do any form of work on my line. I am also tired of paying for someone else's downloads. I would like to get what I am paying for as stipulated by:
The Consumer Protection Act (2008) states in Chapter 2, Part H, Section 54.1 (b):
When a supplier undertakes to perform any services for or on behalf of a consumer, the consumer has a right to-- the performance of the services in a manner and quality that persons are generally entitled to expect;
Thus what I expect from a 4mpbs internet line, is (with overhead calculated) at least 3.5mpbs and not the result below:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 481 kbps (60.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 427 kbps (53.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 28 ms
