Reported the fault, received a ref number, telkom technician arrived 1 week later only to established the fault to be on the pole. It started to rain and he left saying that he would be back as soon as the rain had subsided. After daily calls to the automated call center to date he has not been back nor my service restored, almost a further week has passed and still no service. I am sure this months account will get to me before the technician does.
