I received a new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on my Autopage MTN contract upgrade and it turns out the phone is locked to the MTN network as my Vodacom SIM card does not work I it. As far as I know is is ILLEGAL.
I've been on the phone for literally hours during this past week with so many different agents each telling me a different story. Autopage says it is an MTN issue, MTN says it is an Samsung issue and Sumsung says it is an Autopage issue. Some deny that the phones are network locked and others tell me it is locked because you have to use the correct SIM otherwise you void the warranty.
The call centers provide absolutely appalling service, the agents are useless and if you ask for a manager you are put on hold for literally 15 minutes after which you are just transferred to another agent.
I do not know what to do anymore as I am unable to get clear answer from anyone.
