BLACKBERRY BIS

I have been having the worst time with 8ta service for the past 2 months. Firstly my sim just gave me a SOS on the network and I couldn't dial or receive calls for the month. I called in and was told to do a sim swap (at a cost of R35) which I did.
After the sim swap I can now make calls but I have no BIS. I recharged my BIS since I knew my previous month's BIS would have lapsed. So I called in again to inquire and they tell me my BIS, but from my side its not active. It seems as if help is not in sight anytime soon.
