Appalling lack of service, dishonesty

Joined PF in Sept 2013, with 1st monthly installment on 1 Oct 2013. Contract period=12 months & I will be responsible for penalties if I cancel prior to that. Unfortunately, the same rules do not apply to the gym!
After 3 premiums, fees increased by 25% without notice on 1 Jan 2014.
The contract states 40 business day notice prior to any increases. PF has acknowledge this as a 'misunderstanding'.
My contract is for 12 months. Therefore, there should not be increases for the 12 month period. My budget calculations do not allow for a 25% increase in premiums. I was never informed that my gym fees will go up in Jan.
I have:
1 Phoned PF branch on 3 Jan 2014. Was told to contact the call centre directly for account issues.
2 Phoned call centre on 7 Jan 2014. Spoke to several employees. Told that they will get back to me, still waiting.
3 No answer @ call centre again 16 Jan 2014.
4 Completed a 'contact us' section on website.
5 Called by Reginald on 17 Jan 2014. He promised escalation and further contact within 2 business days.
6 No answer since at any tel. no.
I would like my direct debit restored to the agreed upon amount and honest and fair dealings in future.
