My wife and I ordered product from the south African BASED WEBSITE.
THEY PROMISE free shipping IF ORER MORE THAN R299. WE ADDED extra PRODUCT to the order TO PUSH the order above the value of R299. in order to get FREE SHIPPING as promised on their webpage.
When the Post Office was to deliver, we got a note with a bill of a further 30% of the value of the order for EXTRA SHIPPING costs. Apparently for customs. Because this is a local site, free shipping was promised, and there was NO reason given that a reasonable person would assume differently, It makes this a purposeful. FREE SHIPPING is free shipping. We simply had to pay the extra costs as the Post Office refused to hand over our product if we didn't.
I complained on the facebook page and they promised a refund. It seems this was also just a AS THEY PROMPTLY REMOVED THE POST AND I've HEARD NOTHING FURTHER.
WHAT A RIP OFF.
