A review of all complains against Hush Puppy Retail complaints is interesting. They consistently show nil interest, and definitely no refunds.
After searching far and wide for good quality sandals, I found a pair of Zoe Hush Puppy sandals at their Cresta (Randburg) store on 28 February 2013. However, on 6 March, after wearing them for five days in a row, I saw the heels and tips had visibly begun to show wear-and-tear. I returned them to Hush Puppies Cresta store. Though the assistant - and later, the Regional Manager and his MD - could clearly see the wear-and-tear, which "Laurence" (tel.no. 011 893 3230/476 4414) noted on the Credit Request Application Form as... "[the sandals] are scuffed, ", I was told, "No refund." Though they offered a credit note as a replacement for the "scuffed" shoes (clearly an admission there was a problem with the quality of the soles of the sandals), there are no other shoes in their store I wish to purchase. As a pensioner (govt grant R1200/mth), I cannot afford to throw away the R420 I paid for a pair of shoes I cannot wear. The consumer council can take the matter only so far, but has no jurisdiction to insist on refunds. I want my money back.
