6 days ago, I visited Hemingways shopping mall. As I crossed the parking lot, I slipped on wet tarmac, caused by a leaking overhead pipe. I came down heavily on my right knee, then on my right side. I am 8 months pregnant, and the fall knocked the breath from me.
A security guard witnessed my fall, stopped to watch from a distance, then walked on. Luckily my husband was with me, and was able to help me up. My knee was skinned and bleeding, and I was worried about the cleanliness of the water, so we went inside and asked for first aid. The lady was very helpful and concerned, and cleaned me up as best she could. She took my details so that the security manger could contact me for a statement, and assured me that pictures would be taken of the leak etc, and the problem solved so that no one else was hurt.
I have had no contact, so today I have phoned and left two messages for the security manager. I'd have expected a courtesy call to enquire after my health, and for a statement so that he could address the dangerous situation. Clearly they do not care about my wellbeing, or of any of their future patrons, as nothing has been done.
Thank you SO much for your concern Hemingways.
