Beware of paying municipal accounts at Pick n Pay

Paid my municipal/ rates account at Pick n Pay on 18 March 2013. To my horror, my water had been disconnected on 2nd April. When i queried this with the city of cape town, they advised the payment had not been received from Pick n Pay. i logged a complaint with the branch that evening (2 days ago) and was assured that i would be contacted by yesterday. i also logged a complaint at the rates office as well as their manager, Cyril Davids. It has been 3 days without water and not even a response from Pick n Pay. To add insult to injury, i paid a separate municipal account on the same day and that payment cannot be traced either. If this is the downside to paying a municipal account at a 3rd party vendor then i feel Pick n Pay should not offer this service. This would not have happened if the account was paid at the housing office. unfortunately, i was led to believe that payment at Pick n Pay would be just as seamless. we do not live in a perfect world and mistakes occur but to not even send a response within 3 days when a client has been impacted without a water supply is quite pathetic.
