Ruined Credit Record

Last year in January of 2012 I went to Russells in Randburg looking for a stove to buy. I was told that the stove I wanted was out of stock and I would be called within a week or so when it has arrived. I waited for 6 weeks for that stove until I got tired and cancelled it. I then got a call from someone towards the end of February telling me that they are going to deliver my stove, I told them that I no longer need it because I had already cancelled.
Then in August I got a calls from 4 different people telling me that I was on arrears I had not paid for 6 months. I kept on explaining to them the same thing. I then called Nicholas to tell him about this and he didn't understand why they were calling me.
Now yesterday I went to apply for a loan at my bank and I was refused because apparently I'm still owing Russells about R6000 for something that I have not even received. I want my name cleared urgently please because now this has created a bad credit record for me. I do not understand how a mistake like this could be made. If I had not pay for the whole year how come did they not come and collect their stove. Why did I start getting calls only after 6 months?
