I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against OK Foods regarding a serious health and safety concern, as well as poor customer service.
On the 28th of April 2025, I purchased a can of Cape Point Smoked mussels in Oil 85g from the OK Foods store in Strand. Production date21042024 BB 21042026,3700/01206 Upon opening the product, my wife ate some and discovered a foreign object inside her mouth, from the can. It was 3 pieces of sharp metal. I immediately contacted OK Foods customer service via phone the next day to report the incident. Despite multiple follow-ups and calls, and having spoken directly to two staff members, Siya and Samantha, I have not received any response or resolution from the company.
The presence of a foreign object in a food product poses significant health risks and should be treated with urgency. Unfortunately, the lack of communication from OK Foods demonstrates a disregard for consumer safety and rights.
I am requesting that your office investigate this matter and take the necessary steps to ensure OK Foods is held accountable and that I receive appropriate feedback, compensation, and assurances regarding product safety in the future.
Please let me know if you require any further information or documentation.
