I purchased Pre-packaged sweet melon from Pick n Pay on Sunday 3/2/13 with an expiry date of 6/2/13. When I opened it on 5/2/13, it was sour and inedible. I brought it back to the branch where it was happily replaced with a new pack. The same thing happened again. New expiry date 7/2/13, opened on 6/2/13 and once again sour (sweet) melon. I didn't bother to bring it back this time. I also purchased 6 mini fruit cups last week (27/1/13) and was disappointed to find the fruit dry and either tasteless or sour. The strawberries were not sweet and neither was the pineapple. I threw all of them away. I am strongly considering shopping elsewhere for fresh fruit from now on.
