I received a letter in the post last week regarding an Edgars Account Protection Plan. I did not request this, it was not explained to me and I need it to be removed from my account with immediate effect. The letter said I can have it removed if I have my own death, disability and retrenchment insurance which I do; but after I have submitted these documents Edgars is refusing to remove this cover from my account. I used the exact same policy documents for my Nedbank Personal Loan, what is so diferent about Edgars that they cannot accept them even though they cover all the requirements?? The way in which Edgars conducts itself is very dissatisfactory to say the least. When I opened my account nobody explained anything to me regarding any policies or plans, not the consultant at the store, not the sales person over the phone and not even the person who issued me with my card yet I was charged for all sorts of policies on my account. None of which had been requested by me. I've had to waste my time getting all these policies cancelled and now they add this plan and refuse to remove it. This is a very unscrupulous way for Edgars to rob customers of their money. I do not need this cover!!!
