My family and I had an unfortunate incident at Sweets from Heaven in the new Cradlestone Mall. On Sunday 29 Dec 2013 we decided to treat ourselves with some delicious looking sweets after lunch at one of the restaurants in the mall. While putting the sweets into the plastic bags one of the three assistants working at the store (apparently named Mmathaphelo) interfered continuously and rudely to the point of grabbing the bags from our hands without so much of a smile. It seemed that the POS device was not functional at the time (aroud 5pm) and two attempts at the purchase transaction (value R191.20) with my Standard Bank credit card failed. Having worked for banks myself for more than 10 years I am aware that there is an offline authorisation procedure that could be followed and pointed this out to Mmathaphelo. She reacted arrogantly and said that I should leave everything, since I did not have enough cash on hand at the time. Needless to say my family was very disappointed and shocked at her attitude. In the end I did return to complete the transaction later with cash my father managed to produce. The assistants working at the store: Mmathaphelo, Tebogo and Yonela.
