As a regular patron of the BIG SAVE Hammanskraal Branch, I ordered 500 x 500ml Mineral Water, 1000 x Burger Bread Rolls and 500 Quarter Chicken Leg Pieces for the event. As we were serving the above mentioned items for lunch at the event, the Department Of Health Officials (who were part of the guests) informed me that the quarter chicken legs were rotten and thus not suitable for human consumption. They immediately instructed my team and I to stop serving the food. It was a shocking, unbelievable and to say the least, embarrassing because the guests were throwing insults at my team and I while throwing the items in question on the floor right next to the serving area where my staff and I were positioned. Till this day I have been struggling to get BIG SAVE management to compensate me and my staff for loss of income as the department will not pay me for catering the event. They have not actively taken responsibility for their bad food and horrible service. People are angry and hey just keep running, making empty promises and going back on them. They need to be investigated and dealt with as lives are at risk!!
